Overview
Age is the single biggest risk factor for most major chronic diseases. Cancer, cardiovascular disease, and a range of age-related syndromes — frailty, sarcopenia, and others — all become dramatically more common as the underlying biology of aging progresses.
This is the core argument for treating aging itself as the target: rather than fighting each disease separately after it appears, intervening earlier in the shared biological processes behind them could, in principle, push back several diseases at once.
Why it matters
